Willow Creek Home- Larchwood

larchwood

This build is special to me for one reason, it’s inspired by my home. I live on Larchwood, so it was kinda neat to find out there was a tree called the Larch, it’s like a fir tree, and since they didn’t specifically have Larch Firs in the the game, i just used the firs they had as the lot landscaping.

The empty lot is $18,121 but I advised people to sell plants if necessary to furnish the home. The furnished home costs $25, 885. It’s got 2 bedrooms, and one bath with an extra room to turn into either as needed. It only uses up half the lot so it can very easily be expanded.

Willow Creek Home – Ponderosa

ponderosa

This house is brown. With a brown roof, roof trim, brown floors, brown pillars and blue wallpaper with brown trim!

I started this house with a nice facade in mind. Halfway through building it, I flipped it sideways and instead made a porch. I was kinda tired of having a front porch with railings so instead I experimented with a semi closed off porch with arches, then I made the same effect by using pillars, no railings and adding spandrels.

I named this house after the Ponderosa Pine, still maintaining a similar style to the other two houses but having a more rustic feel. As the Ponderosa makes me think of western movies and such. It’s similar in style to the Magnolia as the bottom floor is basically for entertaining and the bedrooms are upstairs. This is also a mid-level home with the empty house costing around $42K. I kinda went a little overboard and the furnished house is $126K, as a compromise, I’m going to make 2 cheaper homes. Maybe.

Willow Creek Home- The Birchwood

birchwoodI have created my first home for my new world! Introducing The Birchwood! It’s a 2 bedroom, 1 bath starter home, it is available empty for $9,502 or furnished for $17,982. It’s the perfect starter home for a new sim or a couple starting out. With a spectacular view of the waterway, it’s landscaped with its namesake Birch trees. Even though it’s on a smaller lot, there’s a lot of useful space left outdoors for your sims to even expand their house. Very quiet neighborhood (considering it’s the only house on this block so far), with a park close by and a nice fishing spot right outside the back door.

New Project! New World

newproject

I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile but since I’m so into building right now, I’ve decided to make my own custom world. This means everything from scratch. I’m starting off in my favorite section of Willow Creek. Since every town has 2 or 3 clusters with different lot sizes, I can make a range of homes in a certain theme or have similar styles. I’ve always felt Willow Creek was more of a suburban area, very quaint and with a lot of traditional style homes. This section has 5 lots, which will include a starter home (20 x 15) , 3 mid-level homes (20 x 30) and finally the larger lot (40 x 30) for a big family home. I may actually do 2 starters, 2 mids and the large home. Obviously starters will have to be less than $20k, the mid range homes will be up to $40k and the larger home can be over $100K. These homes have to be furnished or if not furnished be sufficient for someone to move in and furnish it with their starting balance. Oh and another thing, these homes must be landscaped. So if you’re not following along-

Willow Creek Neighborhood 1-

-2 Starter Homes under $20k, 2 Mid-Level Homes up to $40k and 1 large home worth over $100k.

-Must be landscaped and furnished or landscaped and have enough left over to furnish (for starter homes)

-Must have similar style, be it a roof style, exterior wall look, features, etc. Think of it as a neighborhood theme. They don’t have to be cookie cutter homes but the style of the neighborhood is important, ie no modern style homes next to a victorian style home.

I know there are probably challenges like this already but this is just my own personal challenge. In my neighborhood, all the homes will have Tree Themed Names. Just felt kinda fitting.

My Current Family- The Kaplans

kaplan family

I have another excuse for not posting! I’ve been having some issues with Photoshop that I haven’t been able to resolve, so I’m having to work around it. So sorry I’ve been so absent. I’ve been bouncing around and playing with all the new careers in Get To Work. Plus I’ve been so immersed in The Sim Supply’s Rags to Riches Challenge that I honestly have not had time to do anything much.

My most recent family is the Miller-Kaplan Family. I’ve already tried out the Detective and Doctor career (in one family and then separately), so I was already done with those, I thought I’d go back to my 100 Baby Challenge but then one night, I just decided to just start a new Legacy Family. I’m not using any particular set of rules or anything for this family. It’s not even a challenge, it’s just playing.

Let me just catch you up on this family. Mitchell Kaplan and Delilah Miller are my starting pair. Mitchell is actually a mix of Alexander Kaplan and a sim from the gallery who I’ve never been able to find again, but luckily saved in my library, his name is Jason Harvey (i think). So I created Mitchell with their genes, he got the jawline and squarish features from Jason, while his orange hair and eyes are from the Kaplan genes. Delilah is of course one of my sims, who I had originally paired up with Alexander Kaplan, by the way, he is available in the gallery.

So I moved them into Oasis Springs and Mitchell started in the Scientist Career. I have to say, I absolutely loved this career, far more than I ever expected. Just the amount of things you could do, the content that was only available with this career, and the madness of it all was great. While Mitchell worked, Delilah became a Stay-at-Home mom, which is actually her job. It actually lists her career as Stay at home mom which is pretty awesome. I think if you don’t have kids it just says Unemployed :).

So Mitchell worked hard in his career and they gradually updated the more traditional home into a more contemporary style. Delilah did alot of gardening to supplement Mitchell’s paycheck, which really helped early on. It was great that she kept up that gardening skill because later on the items from their garden were used to make his serums at work.

They had their first child Millicent and then a funny thing happened. They tried for another baby and they ended up both pregnant! With Twins! Its even more interesting because while they were both pregnant, she was still listed as the mother and he was the father but he was just carrying the babies. Dayana and Mariya were born to Delilah while Mitchell gave birth to Markus and Magnus. I like interesting names. Meanwhile Mitchell was abducted and came home pregnant with an alien baby and Delilah was also pregnant. She had baby Jax, while Mitchell had Xavier.

Millicent began to really annoy me, mostly because she kept sleeping in her parents bed. So I booted her out and took the annoying twin boys with her, that was the plan anyways, but Markus died in a barbecue grill fire. So Millicent and Magnus moved in with the Caliente Sisters, because….Don married Dayana. I seriously have a thing for Don Lothario. He’s my favorite. I always give him a makeover once he moves in though. A major makeover.

Eventually Don and Dayana moved into a house down the street from Mitchell and Delilah and they now have 6 kids. I moved them out and played their house for a bit and the odd male pregnancy happened with Don as well. That’s how they ended up with six kids! Their first set of kids, Dayana had Delia and Don gave birth to Daphne. Then I worked the household, advancing Don in his career, then they tried for another baby and once it was confirmed she was pregnant I went back to playing my original house. A few sim days later, I come back to play Don and Dayana, they had 4 more kids. 2 sets of twins! It was odd as well because I had no clue what sex they were. I had to to wait until they became children and I gave them makeovers as well as fixing their names. They had 3 boys Drake, Dominick and Donovan. The lone girl in the set is Danyella.

Meanwhile, I married Mariya off to a random sim and moved her into another household. She was almost as annoying as Millicent. After that whole thing with Don and Dayana, I ended up checking out my mods and cleared out most of them. After that, the game seems to have been fixed.

Delilah and Mitchell had 2 more children- Jax and Julliana. When Jax aged up to a young adult, I moved him and his half brother Xavier to Oasis Springs. Jax met Kylie and Xavier met Shay. Xavier is in the medical field while Shay is a detective. Jax and Kylie are the artistic couple, Jax is a writer and Kylie is a painter. They have one child- Karlie, with another on the way.

Since I’ve been playing Jax and Xavier’s houses, as they don’t live together anymore, they live across the street from each other. After Jax and Kylie’s baby was born I checked the family tree and noticed that Mitchell was now an elder. It made me so sad, I wanted to give him and Delilah another chance to be parents and to retire him from the Scientist profession. Currently Delilah is expecting and I hope she has a boy!

New House: Brynne 2

brynne2

So I’m back to my challenge. I had to take some time off to play Get to Work, I’ve explored the new careers and experimented with having a shop. A bakery of course. Things I wouldn’t be able to do in my 100 Baby Challenge. I did do a bit of cheating though, I will admit, because I brought Annabelle back from the dead and took pictures with her. I used CAS to age her down and then will age her up to an elder and move her out once Brynne is a young adult. She is almost ready to age up. Because the teens weren’t getting A’s no matter how hard I tried, this part took a little longer to get through. So Brynne managed to get alot of skills, which is awesome. I had her start writing books when she was a teen so we can start making money for the next generation. Plus after Annabelle died, we lost her book money so that sucked.

Anyways, before I could start on Brynne’s generation I did change up the house, unfortunately by the time Brynne was even close to taking over, I had changed my mind and decided I didn’t like it, so I created the new house. It’s a 2 bedroom (remember one bedroom has 7 beds), 6 bath house. The main level has 3 bathrooms, and one large bedroom for Brynne. The lower level has more of an entertainment area 3 more bathrooms and whatever junk I couldn’t fit upstairs.

Getting Ready for Work!

I’m so ridiculously excited for this new expansion. It’s kinda funny how I’m so into Sims 4 after initially hating it when it first came out. Now I never shut it off it seems. Literally, it’s running on my computer almost 24/7, yeah we have multiple computers so I never have to share. The only major annoyance is from any updates that automatically restart my computer.

Oh my god, my train of thought has derailed! Anyways, I’ve decided to put the 100 Baby Challenge on hold for the week, or at least a few days while I play up my new house. It’s not really new tbh, I just created my Get To Work house with Willa and Brynne, found them some boy toys on the exchange and moved them into Willow Creek. I’m probably going to be creating a new house for them to pass the time and then enter them into the new careers once GTW comes out. Brynne is for sure going to own a retail store, her hubby what’s his face is going to be a cop, while Willa will be a doctor and uh her husband will be a scientist. I’m so good with details right?

Update 100 Baby Challenge: Waiting…

Just a quick update as nothing has happened. For some reason even if their school performance is high, and they do their homework, the kids are not getting A’s so I can’t age them up. I’ve removed the mods and hopefully that fixes it. I can’t seem to garden now either. I tell them to go water and they just won’t, so I don’t know.

Willa and Xara aged up when they normally would instead of when they got A’s. 4 teens now in the house with Brynne. I’ll move them out as soon as they all age.

In other news I’m prepping a family for Get To Work when it comes out on Tuesday, I’m so excited! I can’t decide who to use. But for today until Tuesday I’m gonna work on their house and skills.

New House: Brynne

brynnehome

There was a game update released which included basements and of course I had to redo the house. This time for the next generation. I’m just biding my time as Brynne just became a teenager, I’m having her collect the Easter eggs and once she get the A, I will age actually actively clean out the house of her siblings and move them on.

Brynne’s home is red with only one level. At first glance it looks like a single bedroom home but underneath is the kids area which includes 7 beds in one bedroom, a pool and a skills area.

TBH, it might look like I didn’t spend much time on it but this took me forever to do. I love the charming cottage look.
